Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate is on Napoli’s list of options to replace Kim min-Jae once he completes a move to Bayern Munich.
That’s according to Corriere dello Sport, who look at the Italian side’s plans to bolster their defence and replace their departed star.
They explain that after passing up on the opportunity to re-sign fan favourite Kalidou Koulibaly from Chelsea, Napoli are scouring the market for who they could sign.
They are ‘willing to invest’ in a replacement for Kim and Liverpool’s Konate is one of the players they are looking at.
That’s because he has ‘played not so much’ at Anfield and there is a belief, however small, that they could tempt him and the Reds into a move.
There is also, though, an accepting that ‘spending at Anfield’ is not easy and it would take a ‘remarkable’ fee, at least as far as Napoli are concerned, to get him out of Liverpool this summer.
Still, he is on the Italian side’s list of options, which has several names on it as they try to get an overall picture of the operations, they could carry out to replace Kim.
They’re yet to make an concrete moves or anything of that nature but the idea is there and it’s something to keep an eye on in the coming weeks and months when Napoli do eventually start making decisions.
