Having signed Cody Gakpo ahead of the January transfer window, you would think that Liverpool would be done going after forwards.
That, however, doesn’t appear to be the case, as the Reds are still pursuing Jhon Duran, currently contracted to Chicago Fire in the MLS.
Their interest in the Colombian is nothing new, as it has previously been reported that Liverpool were scouting the 19-year-old.
Talk of an offer, though, seems to be new, as Italian journalist Raffaele Amato took to Twitter to discuss the situation surrounding the striker.
He said that Liverpool are also ‘making concrete moves’ for Duran, but their current offer is ‘lower than Benfica’s’.
Right now, Chicago Fire are ‘aiming to collect €20m’ for their starlet, who only signed from Envigado last January for €1.7m.
That would represent a huge profit for the MLS side, but it remains to be seen if Liverpool are willing to improve their current bid to try and see off competition, with Aston Villa also in the mix.
Since moving to America, the player has made 27 appearances in the league, scored eight goals and also boasts three caps for his country.
