At the weekend, claims in the English press explained that Liverpool are interested in signing Crystal Palace’s Cheick Doucouré.

This has reached the French press with RMC Sport providing their own take on the Reds’ chances of landing the Eagles midfielder.

It’s claimed Liverpool have ‘probed’ Doucouré, without specifying whether they contacted his camp, Crystal Palace or both.

The report says Liverpool haven’t made significant progress in the last few days and haven’t sent a concrete offer to Roy Hodgson’s side. In fact, the negotiations for the 23-year-old are ‘at a standstill’ right now.

Doucouré, who has played the full 90 minutes in all three games this season, has a deal until 2027, and the report states Crystal Palace will need a fee in excess of €60m to part ways with him.

Jürgen Klopp’s side have added Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai and Wataru Endō to their squad this summer and are still looking to bring in another midfielder.

Apart from Doucouré, Bayern Munich’s Ryan Gravenberch is also reportedly included in Liverpool’s midfield target list.
