Reports from Brazil continue to say that Liverpool are interested in signing Vasco da Gama starlet Talles Magno.

It’s been only a few months since we had a last update on this chase, with claims from Brazilian TV saying the Reds were the first to move for the winger.

Now it’s time for Yahoo journalist Jorge Nicola to report the Anfield Road side are ‘monitoring’ the 18-year-old, and recently made an approach.

The reporter makes it clear that there are no offers from Liverpool yet. The club’s idea is to get more information on the player, his family, his behaviour, and the chances of a deal.

Talles Magno is protected by Vasco with a release clause of €50m. But according to Jorge Nicola, the Rio de Janeiro side know they won’t get anything close to that.

The club would accept to let the youngster go for only €20m. Both them and his agent would like to find a sale as soon as possible due to the financial crisis, which makes it sound like Liverpool could get themselves a good deal.
