On Wednesday, journalist Sacha Tavolieri reported Liverpool are ‘reasonably confident’ of signing Roméo Lavia. He had also stated the Reds are planning to make an improved offer after Southampton rejected their initial bid.

Tavolieri has now returned with a fresh update as he took to Twitter to state the Reds’ new offer of £45m including bonuses has ‘officially been sent’ to the Saints on Thursday.

He further states Liverpool and Southampton are working to sort out the ‘right structure with meticulous talks’ to make sure the bonuses are easily achievable. In addition to this, they are also discussing the payment structure.

This is likely to be sorted out soon as the journalist claims Russell Martin’s side expect the deal to go through in the ‘next few days’.

The Belgium international has already agreed personal terms with the Merseyside club. He’s ‘waiting’ for the two clubs to agree a deal and carry out medical tests with Liverpool, in order to join Jürgen Klopp’s pre-season squad in Singapore.

Tavolieri seems confident as he states it’s ‘matter of time’ before Liverpool sign Lavia.
