Arsenal were heavily linked with a move for Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman in the summer transfer window. It now seems as if Liverpool are also a major candidate to land the Nigeria international.

Lookman had a falling out with manager Gian Piero Gasperini some weeks ago after comments from the Italian about his penalty-taking abilities. Even though that issue has calmed down, talk about the forward’s future has not gone away.

TuttoAtalanta have reported that with Liverpool struggling to tie down Mohamed Salah to a new contract, they have put Lookman ‘at the top of market notebook’ for the summer.

If the Egyptian leaves, Lookman will be a key target even if there is major interest from Paris Saint-Germain.

The report indicates that Arsenal are still a candidate and Newcastle United are keen.

Juventus have made contact for the Nigerian and have spoken to his entourage but the former Fulham player wants to play in the Champions League. Juve are currently out of the top four and this could prove to be an advantage for Liverpool and Arsenal, who are all set to play in the Champions League next season.
