Liverpool’s hopes of signing Eintracht Frankfurt star Daichi Kamada may have been handed as he ‘dreams of abroad’ and doesn’t really want to join Borussia Dortmund.
That’s according to BILD, who say Kamada would prefer to move outside of the Bundesliga when he becomes a free agent in the summer.
Kamada has been at Frankfurt since a move from Sagan Tosun in 2017 and, after a loan spell away at Sint-Truiden, has been one of the stars of the show for the club since, scoring 37 goals and registering 31 assists in 164 games in all competitions.
He is very much one of the stars of the show but is set to leave on a free transfer in the summer when his current contract comes to an end.
It had been believed he was joining Borussia Dortmund, with reports claiming that he had already agreed a deal to join the Bundesliga club.
BILD insist that isn’t the case, though, and according to their information Kamada ‘does not really want’ to go to Dortmund this summer.
In fact, he ‘dreams of abroad’ and would prefer to leave Germany if given the choice. That should come as a major positive to Liverpool, who were recently brought into the mix for his signature.
Reports in Germany at the end of last month made it clear they were one of several English sides exploring the possibility of a deal.
Their prospects now appear to have been given a major boost as the midfielder seemingly doesn’t fancy staying in the Bundesliga or moving to Dortmund.
Of course, that doesn’t mean he is now on his way to Anfield but it certainly makes it far more easier for Liverpool to get him if they are as interested as it’s been claimed they are.
