Liverpool “have the feeling” that Jude Bellingham “wants” to join them ahead of others in the summer.
That’s according to Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenburg, who says Jurgen Klopp is yet to have a “personal conversation” with the Borussia Dortmund star despite reports to the contrary.
Bellingham has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool over the last few months, with the Reds determined to reinvent their midfield in the summer.
The England star is believed to be at the top of their wish list, a desire that has only grown after Bellingham starred for England at the World Cup in Qatar.
Liverpool face extreme competition for his signature this summer, though, with the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester City also thought to be in the race for his signature.
However, reports in Germany have made it clear that Anfield may be the player’s preferred destination, and a report at the beginning of December stating that his father, who is a key advisor for him, believing that it would be the best for his career.
That would seemingly put Liverpool at the front of the queue and according to Plettenburg, they are confident they can get their man.
“There have been no personal talks between Klopp and Bellingham yet,” he told Sky Sports Germany.
“The talks so far have been done by others from the club with the Bellingham side. They want him and they still have the feeling that it could work out and that Bellingham is keen on Liverpool.”
