On Friday, UOL reported Liverpool have been scouting Flamengo’s Wesley França for over a year and have made an informal approach.
There was also a suggestion the right-back could be a replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold in the summer window. The latter’s contract expires in June and could join Real Madrid for free.
Journalist Bruno Lemos, who took to X, formerly known, to back up Liverpool’s interest in Wesley.
He claims the 21-year-old is one of the priority targets for the Merseyside club in the next window. The Reds see his characteristics are similar to that of the England international, who could leave Anfield at the end of this season.
Wesley could replace Alexander-Arnold if he were to leave Liverpool as a free agent. In the event the 26-year-old signs an extension, Lemos claims it won’t prevent Arne Slot’s side from signing the Brazilian.
Liverpool aren’t the only Premier League club to show interest in the South American as Everton, Manchester United, Aston Villa and West Ham United are in the mix. Lemos adds Barcelona and AC Milan are also interested in Wesley.
Over at Coluna Do Fla, they relay UOL’s claim and then share a short update on this case.
Flamengo will only consider letting the fullback leave in the summer and to do that, they will need a ‘hefty sum’. The report makes no mention of their demand but points out the Brazilian club rejecting a €25m bid from Zenit Saint Petersburg.
