Liverpool could face competition from Real Madrid for Palmeiras youngster Vitor Reis if they make a move for the player.

That’s according to Nosso Palmeiras, who report that those inside the Brazilian club are talking about Carlo Ancelotti’s side potentially being interested.

They explain that Premier League teams continue to keep an eye on Palmeiras’ talents, with Estêvão already heading to Chelsea and Luis Guilherme going to West Ham United this summer.

Reis is the latest great talent to come out of the club and after links to Arsenal, Liverpool are also believed to be targeting him.

No proposal has been put on the table at the moment and the Brazilian side are unlikely to make any deal an easy one. Either way, Liverpool could potentially see him as the long-term replacement for Virgil van Dijk.

However, Reis is name being linked to Real Madrid behind the scenes at Palmeiras. They offer no more than that, but the Spanish giants have been scooping up Brazilian talent early for a while and a move for a player like Reis would make plenty of sense.

The 18-year-old currently has a €100m release clause in his contract so whether Palmeiras would stick to that remains to be seen.

Either way Liverpool and Real Madrid appear to be keeping an eye on the youngster and the feeling in Brazil is at least one is going to move for him at some point.
