Liverpool’s chase for Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat is today highlighted by Italian newspaper Corriere Dello Sport.
With the player shining for Morocco at the World Cup, it’s said the Serie A side are quite concerned about protecting him once he gets back to Italy.
Liverpool are said to be the club who have contacted the player’s agency to make a ‘survey’ for his transfer. And with Amrabat having the ‘dream’ of playing in the Champions League, that’s something the Reds could offer while Fiorentina are unable to.
That’s just one of the factors the Anfield side are putting on the table. The other is a salary worth £3m a year, while he only makes €1.8m at La Viola.
That’s why Fiorentina are now worried about giving Amrabat a new contract, trying to ‘lock down’ the midfielder, just like they did with Nikola Milenkovic.
Even though other clubs such as Sevilla and Tottenham have also been linked to the Moroccan player, Corriere Dello Sport makes it clear it’s Liverpool who have been in touch for his signing, and the Serie A side are already working to stop his departure.
