Liverpool have been active in this window and have invested heavily in strengthening their squad.

The Reds have signed Florian Wirtz and are now edging closer to signing Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitiké.

Liverpool have also identified Real Madrid’s Rodrygo as a target to further improve their attack.

Last Wednesday, AS reported Arne Slot’s side have appointed agent Pini Zahavi as an intermediary to start negotiations with Los Blancos.

Tuesday’s edition of Sport reports the Merseyside club will consider signing the 24-year-old Brazil international if Luis Díaz is sold this summer. Barcelona showed keen interest in the 28-year-old Colombian, but Bayern Munich now seem to be ahead.

Bayern Munich’s initial bid has been rejected and if they return with an improved bid, Sport indicates Liverpool could sell Díaz. Should that happen, the English champions will then look to sign Rodrygo.

The newspaper claims Real Madrid value the South American at €100m and the price could be lowered if he asks to leave.

Meanwhile, RMC Sport report Liverpool have identified Lyon’s Malik Fofana as a back up option to Rodrygo. The 20-year-old Belgian is also a plan B for Bayern Munich if they fail to sign Díaz.

Fofana is valued at €30m and would be a much cheaper option than Rodrygo for Liverpool.
