Ousmane Dembele’s situation at Barcelona is complicated to say the least.

He’s currently in the Catalan news (via Sport) for allegedly being two hours late for training on Sunday, which is quite some achievement.

This is all the more annoying for those in charge at Barca, because on Saturday he scored a goal and provided an assist in a 4-0 victory over local rivals Espanyol.

Even before news of the latest mishap surfaced, reports were still circulating in Spain about doubts around the player’s future.

El Confidencial say the player has ‘two faces’ at Barcelona, one being his good performances on the pitch, and the other being all the issues he’s had off it.

Whether it’s worth Barcelona keeping him is pondered, and El Confidencial say ‘everything will depend on the economic proposal’ made to them by an interested club, with Liverpool named.

Should a club show up to the ‘negotiating table’ with a good enough offer then it’s made clear there could be a wobble, and, again, it’s worth pointing out this was before the Sunday claims of him being two hours late.

Arsenal interest from the past is referenced, and then it’s stated should Liverpool come forward, the ‘roulette’ can begin ‘depending on price’… making it clear that whichever way it goes would be a gamble for all those involved.

Dembele is an excellent youngster but Liverpool wouldn’t want to break their transfer record and then move the player’s problems from Catalonia to Merseyside.
