Earlier this week, when the Italian media reported Napoli’s interest in Adama Traoré, it even seemed like the Serie A side had good chances of signing him from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
It was claimed there was already a contract offer on the table, with the Neapolitan club staying in contact with the player’s entourage.
An update on that scenario, however, makes that move sound more difficult, as the Wolves player may not be that interested in joining the Serie A side.
The information is brought by market expert Ciro Venerato, who, on RAI (via Area Napoli), claimed Napoli are still to convince Traoré of making such move.
“It will most likely not be Adama Traoré who will be Lozano’s heir. The offer is too low or there is little mutual interest”.
“The fact is that Napoli is evaluating other names. Most likely Traoré and his entourage aim to stay in the Premier League. Napoli would have proposed a maximum of €3m net per season. Distant from the ideas from abroad.”
Traore’s contract with Wolves expires at the end of the season, and that’s why clubs are already putting contract offers on his table.
Following the return from his loan at Barcelona last summer, he made 22 appearances for the Molineux side, with two goals scored.
Not being a regular starter at the club, the winger seems to be far from the player he once was, and is now set to analyse the options he’ll have at the end of the season.
