Manchester United summer signing Victor Lindelof has told the Swedish media there is a clear difference playing for the Premier League side compared to Benfica.
Fotbollskanalen have reported on comments made by the Manchester United defender today’s training session with his national team: “It has been good and very important for me to get to know the club, everything around, all the players, leaders and the system. It’s a very important time for me.”
The Swede added, when asked about comparisons with Benfica: “The difference is clear. It’s clear there are more eyes on Manchester United than at Benfica.”
Lindelof has yet to make a Premier League appearance for Manchester United, despite the effort to get him from Benfica. At times during preseason the Sweden international struggled, and subsequently Jose Mourinho has gone with the partnership of Phil Jones and Eric Bailly.
However, Lindelof will be expected to start Sweden’s upcoming internationals, after missing the last two games due to injury.
Leeds United’s Pontus Jansson was drafted in to replace Lindelof in April, but it’s likely the Manchester United player will come back into Janne Andersson’s starting eleven, at the expense of the Elland Road star.
