One of the summer’s big sagas in Spain is going to be the future of Gabri Veiga, who is currently one of the stars at Celta Vigo.
The player has burst onto the scene this season with some great performances, which has left a few clubs, including Arsenal, interested in a potential transfer.
The Gunners have been linked more than once, and often stated as a preference of the player, which is reiterated by Manu Sainz for AS on Thursday morning.
In a video, the journalist discussed the Spanish starlet’s future, and started off by dismissing the idea of a move to Real Madrid, who are just about to spend a lot of money on Jude Bellingham.
Sainz see a move to the Premier League as the likeliest option for Veiga, where the likes of Newcastle and Liverpool are lurking.
However, he brings up Arsenal towards the end, making it clear that should they turn up, that’s where the youngster would head.
He said: “The club in England he likes the most, which we published a while back, is Arsenal. Arsenal is the club. If Arsenal gets into the bidding for Veiga, then they will most likely get him, because he enjoys the football Arsenal play and he would like to work with Arteta. It’s football, and he would have an advantage there.”
It’s a well known fact that Veiga has a €40m release clause in his contract, and that’s the amount Celta Vigo want to let him go this summer.
Therefore, Arsenal, Mikel Arteta and Edu Gaspar know exactly what to do.
