It appears that there will be some movement around Diego Llorente, Leeds United and AS Roma ‘in the coming weeks’.
That’s according to Filippo Biafora, who took to Twitter to bring the latest on the Elland Road loanee’s situation.
The Il Tempo journalist covers a lot of what is already known, which is that AS Roma don’t want to pay Leeds the pre-agreed €18m from the deal struck in January.
Earlier reports claimed the Serie A side would want that to go down by €7-8m if possible, or potential work on an another loan.
This came after reports of an imminent meeting set to take place between the two sides to sort it out, but that now appears to have been pushed back.
Why isn’t said, but Biafora makes it clear ‘they like the player’ and will ‘try to negotiate a new deal’ to keep him for José Mourinho ‘in the coming weeks’.
This suggests no immediate decision will be made, and this could drag on for a while yet.
During his time at AS Roma, the Leeds loanee made 12 appearances in all competitions, which included a 15 minute cameo in the Europa League final against Sevilla.
