This week, reports from the Brazilian media said Chelsea are one of the clubs interested in Internacional winger Mauricio.
It was claimed by Vozes do Gigante that the Blues could buy the 22-year-old, with the Colorado looking to make €12m with his sale.
Other outlets went after this story, and Revista Colorada now managed to learn something interesting about Chelsea’s interest.
The website spoke to André Cury, who takes care of Mauricio’s career, and the agent confirmed Chelsea’s interest.
“I know they like him a lot, but so far there have been no enquiries. He’s got several enquiries from Europe.”
It now remains to be seen whether Chelsea will actually make a bid for Mauricio in the next window.
Since the player turns 23 in the summer, we must point out that this isn’t a very common signing for the Blues to make, as they’re usually more focused on signing younger players from Brazil.
Mauricio is also far from being a big star in Brazilian football, so we better wait and see if Chelsea’s interest starts being reported by bigger local outlets.
Since arriving at Internacional back in 2020, the youngster has 25 goals and 25 assists in 165 appearances.
