At 17 years of age, Paris Saint-Germain’s Claudio Gomes is living the dream, training with the first-team since the end of 2017.

One of two youngsters selected to go to Qatar with the first-team for two ‘commercial’ days with the club, the midfielder is also being chased by Manchester City, as the Ligue 1 leaders try to tie him down to his first professional contract.

According to RMC Sport, Pep Guardiola’s side have sent scouts multiple times to watch him play and talk to his entourage.

The French outlet explain the fact Claudio Gomes’ representatives are English has made things a lot easier, and the Spanish manager has himself spoken to the Paris Saint-Germain starlet in order to tell him all about Manchester City’s project that would see him eventually play in the Premier League.

On top of that, RMC report the financial offer they’ve made him isn’t one to be ‘overlooked’.

Regarding Gomes’ feelings in all this, the 17-year-old and his entourage are said to be ‘very interested’ by Manchester City’s project, to such an extent they’ve already made the Premier League side the promise they won’t negotiate a deal with other clubs.

That means he’ll either stay in Paris or end up at the Etihad.

However, RMC also make it clear the Ligue 1 side aren’t ready to give up just yet, but will have to be convincing, mostly by promising him some game time next year.

A tricky situation for Paris Saint-Germain, and one Manchester City appear to have under control for now.
