Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe has revealed he’d sign Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante if he was provided with an opportunity to get one player for the Ligue 1 winners in the summer transfer window.

The France international has been in fine form since making a move to England from Caen. He initially joined Leicester City in the summer of 2015 and played a key role in helping the Foxes win the title in his debut season in the Premier League.

Kante’s impressive displays saw him attract interest from other top clubs in England. Chelsea were successful in bringing the midfielder to Stamford Bridge in 2016 and he was instrumental in the Blues’ last title win.

The 27-year-old has been linked with a move to Parc des Princes. Mbappe, who joined PSG from AS Monaco last summer, claims Kante would be a perfect signing for the French champions next season.

“Kante, according to our needs and also the quality of the player. I think he’s a player that would suit Paris Saint-Germain perfectly,” Mbappe told beIN Sports, when asked which one player he’d like to sign for PSG in the summer.

“He is French, bringing a Frenchman to Ligue 1 would be good and it will be good for the attractiveness of our league. I think most of the French football fans like N’Golo Kante, and it would be a pleasure to have him in our league.”

Kante signed a five-year contract with his current employers and still has three years left on his deal at the west London club. The former Leicester star had earlier stressed that he has no intention to leave Chelsea after the end of the 2017/18 season.

“I am at home. It is my club, I am a Chelsea player. This is my second year at Chelsea. After what happened last season, it was a very good one for us because we got to celebrate winning the title,” Kante told the Evening Standard.

“In the second season, I have got to play in the Champions League and we are going again to finish in the top four. We will fight until the end to finish in the top four and to get in a Champions League position.

“We also have the FA Cup to play for – it is a good competition. Last season we failed in the final. It is the only trophy we can win this season, so we have to give everything to get to the final and win it.”
