Bought by Watford back in January, João Pedro has only featured five times for the Hornets for a grand total of 147 minutes.
The young Brazilian was never going to be a regular starter from the off, having only just turned 18 back in September, and there is now the possibility of him ending up going on loan next season.
That’s according to Emmanuel Merceron, a former employee of Nantes in Ligue 1 who still has good connections to the club and is widely accepted by local journalists to know a thing or two here and there.
Taking to social media, he explained the French club were looking at Brazilian strikers to fill a gap in their attack, and João Pedro’s profile ‘is being studied for a loan’.
We’ll have to see what Watford have to say about this, but it could be a good opportunity for the youngster to acclimatise himself to life and football in Europe in a slightly more technical league than the Championship.
He’d also have the chance of mingling with fellow Brazilians, as former Manchester United defender Fábio is still there, as is centre-back Andrei Girotto who arrived from Tombense back in 2017.
