Arsenal interest in young star is scaring French club, want to offer early renewal to player

 

If you’re a regular starter at a top division club at the age of 17, you must be good, and that’s exactly what Toulouse’s goalkeeper Alban Lafont is.

Keeping Paris Saint-Germain from scoring in a 2-0 win for the Ligue 1 club, the youngster kept the likes of Edinson Cavani and Angel Di Maria at bay, and did so impressively.

Currently fourth in league with 14 points from eight games when they avoided relegation by a hair’s breadth last season, Toulouse have their starlet to thank for some crucial saves.

Tales of this young talent are already spreading across Europe, and Arsenal have already scouted him multiple times, as reported by L’Equipe a few weeks ago.

Well, according to Le10 Sport, because of this interest from the Premier League club, Toulouse are already planning on renewing his contract, even though he only signed his first professional deal in June.

The club’s president is keen to tie him down for the foreseeable future, and with performances deserving of a new deal, this isn’t surprising in the slightest.
