Before Antonio Conte and after José Mourinho, there was a brief period when Paulo Fonseca looked set to be the next Tottenham manager.
This was back in 2021, and an agreement had already been reached with the manager until newly-appointed Fabio Paratici came along and pulled the plug on it all.
Well, with the Italian now no longer working for Tottenham and the club in need of a manager, it appears they are looking at Fonseca again, according to But! Football Club.
The Portuguese manager is currently excelling at Lille, where he has managed to get the most of his squad, which has caught the eye of a few clubs, including the Spurs.
The outlet state that they know West Ham, Crystal Palace and Tottenham are ‘more or less following’ Fonseca, with all three of them likely to need a new man in charge this summer.
That depends on what happens with the current managers at the helm of the first two, but Spurs definitely need someone, and it appears that Daniel Levy, now free of Paratici, may have returned to one of his former favourites.
However, nothing will take place before the end of the campaign, as Fonseca wants to finish the current season before assessing his future, whether it be in the north of France, London or elsewhere.
Either way, it’s stated it will be ‘very difficult’ for Lille to hold onto their manager, with so many circling around him.
