Thursday’s edition of Sport has a feature on all the players who left Barcelona during the summer transfer window.

The Catalan media have been openly pleased about several of the transfers, especially the business done with Everton for Lucas Digne, Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes.

For Digne, Everton ended up paying more than Barcelona had originally wanted for the French fullback, and with Mina the transfer fee was at the higher of Barca’s lofty aims after the defender impressed for Colombia at the World Cup.

Mina and Gomes are yet to take to the pitch for the Toffees due to fitness issues, but Digne is working his way in and Sport sound at least a little impressed.

The Catalan newspaper seem torn between wanting to brag about getting big fees for players who weren’t worth such amounts, and helping Barca’s future sale process by showing it’s good to buy from the club.

Sport have confidence that Digne is set to go from ‘less to more’ and push Leighton Baines aside as Everton’s first choice left back.

A Man of the Match performance against Rotherham, followed by an assist against Huddersfield Town, leads Sport to tell their readers that their ‘ex’ is doing well at his new club and on the verge of doing even better.
