A couple of weeks ago, Georges Kevin N’Koudou was expected to sign for Tottenham, whilst Clinton N’Jie was heading to Marseille, but both the transfers haven’t taken place yet.
Most importantly, the media don’t appear to be too confident about what’s happening and there has been very few updates. There have been reports suggesting Tottenham had offered Marseille only €5m for N’Koudou after a fee of €13m was agreed, but L’Equipe on Thursday don’t go with those claims.
They claim Tottenham and Marseille are in regular contact, and even held discussions yesterday. It’s stated that deal could be done for the same amount, but that would only be a purchase option at the end of a loan.
That sounds very much like Tottenham have managed to get things to swing in their favour, and it would be a surprise that cash-strapped Marseille would accept a loan move.
It is reported the reason for delay is due to the change of management and officials at Marseille, as Tottenham anxiously wait to complete the deals.
Both the players have completed their medicals, and are now waiting for Marseille and Tottenham to complete negotiations.
