Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez was always going to be a big talking point of the transfer window after his outstanding performances for the Premier League champions last season.
Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing the Algerian international, and reports suggest they’ve placed a bid of £35m.
Yesterday L’Equipe consultant Gilles Favard claimed on Twitter that Arsenal have made a bid of £35m after an offer of £30m was rejected.
Favard also tweeted “Mahrez to Arsenal soon”, and L’Equipe on Thursday back up those claims.
L’Equipe second that Arsenal have made a bid of £35m for Mahrez, who they believe is determined to sign for the Gunners.
Ranieri recently claimed Mahrez is happy at the club, and that it’s important to keep him, but L’Equipe believe that might not be the case in reality.
Apparently, according to a close source, Mahrez is ready to push his transfer to Arsenal, who are ready to offer him a long term contract.
L’Equipe say Arsenal could quickly complete the signing of Mahrez, but a deal before this weekend is a bit unlikely as Leicester are reluctant to let him leave.
