Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri hasn’t ruled out the possibility of accepting another job in Italy one day. Speaking to Italy’s Calcio 2000, the 64-year-old claimed the chances are open, despite his current contract with the Foxes.
“A return to Italy? I don’t know, we’ll see. Never say never. But I renewed with Leicester until 2020.”
The manager spent a big part of the interview talking about his work in his home country, especially his early departure from Inter Milan in in 2012.
That was his last job in Italy, and later in 2012 he joined Monaco. After two years in France, he spent a few months in charge of the Greek national team in 2014 before finally arriving at leicester City in summer 2014.
In Italy, Ranieri has managed teams including Parma, Cagliari, Napoli, Fiorentina, Juventus, AS Roma, and of course Inter Milan. In a very varied career, Ranieri has also managed Valencia and Atletico Madrid in Spain, the former club twice.
