Leicester City signed Nathan Opoku from American side Ventura County Fusion in January and immediately sent him out on loan to OH Leuven.
The striker has scored two goals and registered one assist from six games for the Jupiler Pro League side and managed all of that in the last two outings. As it stands, he will have to return to the King Power Stadium after this season.
Het Nieuwsblad on Friday have a report discussing the futures of a few Leuven players and this includes the Leicester owned man.
It’s said the 21-year-old has ‘50% chance to stay’ at the Belgian club next season after he started to impress in the past few weeks. Due to his age and lack of experience of playing in the top European leagues, he still has potential for some growth.
Earlier this month, the Ghanaian admitted he hasn’t heard from Leicester over his future and also stressed he would be open to extending his loan stay in Belgium.
Leuven manager Marc Brys has already explained he wants to wait until this season is over to decide whether to retain Opoku.
If Leicester were to sanction another loan move for him, the report states they ‘will not regret’ it since the frontman can gain an extra year of experience at Leuven.
