A move to Leicester City would ‘meet all expectations’ for Club Brugge star Charles de Ketelaere, but there are concerns about a move to the King Power Stadium.

That’s according to Voetbal Nieuws, who cover the Foxes’ interest and whether a move would make sense for the ‘golden boy’ of Belgian football.

Leicester have been linked with a move for De Ketelaere over the last few weeks, with Brendan Rodgers’ side, one of several in Europe thought to be keeping a close eye on the forward as he continues to impress.

While there is ‘almost no chance’ a move will happen this month, unless an ‘astronomical’ €40m bid were to arrive, a transfer in the summer seems to be a ‘foregone conclusion’.

Leicester could be a part of that race, but they do not ‘seem to be the best’ career move for him at this moment in time.

VN argue that despite presenting themselves as ‘stable’, Leicester are anything but, and their current 10th placed standing makes a mockery of the idea of them being the ‘best of the rest’ in the Premier League.

This season they are performing ‘below expectations’, and while Brendan Rodgers may be working hard, he’s yet to find the ‘golden formula’ for them.

He makes frequent tactical and personnel changes, leading to the opposite of the ‘stable environment’ that De Ketelaere needs for his development. As a result, they do not ‘seem to be the best choice’ for him.

On paper, Leicester’s profile would ‘meet expectations’ for De Ketelaere. They are a ‘nice club with charisma’ as well as being ‘ambitious’. They regularly compete for the top six and European football, and that is a bonus.

But the ‘unstable environment’ is not, and it would not be the right place for De Ketelaere to continue his rapid development as he needs ‘playing minutes and stability’.

Now, this is only Voetbal Nieuws’ opinion, of course, and there are plenty who would argue against all of the points being made.

Indeed, this is a bit of a wild article anyway in that it both presents Leicester as an option De Ketelaere would approve of but then shoots them down in the next sentence.

Still, when you see the Foxes linked in the coming months, at least you know what they’re currently saying about the potential move in Belgium.
