Leicester City are ‘serious’ about Torino defender Per Schuurs and bringing him to the club in the summer transfer window.
That’s according to Torino Granata, who say a €27m offer for the Dutchman was turned down by the Serie A side.
Leicester have struggled defensively this season, with the departure of Wesley Fofana to Chelsea something they are yet to get over.
Wout Faes has helped to fill the gap but those alongside him have struggled for form, with Jannik Vestergaard, Jonny Evans and Daniel Partey failing to impress and Caglar Söyüncü out of favour.
The latter is leaving for Atletico Madrid in the summer while Evans and Amartey are both out of contract as well.
That led to the signing of Harry Souttar in the January transfer window, but it seems the Foxes are not finished there and they are also eyeing Schuurs.
Torino Granata report that Leicester have him in their sights and ‘are serious’ about the Dutchman to the point that they increased a recent bid by €1m and ‘put €27m on the table’ for him.
That was nowhere near close to convincing Torino, who now value the player at €40m and therefore weren’t interested in what the Foxes have proposed.
It seems they will have to significantly increase their bid if they wish to sign the 23-year-old in the summer.
