Leicester City’s Jannik Vestergaard has made three appearances in all competitions this season and all of them were in the cup competitions.
The Denmark international is not favoured by Brendan Rodgers and the manager hasn’t provided him any explanation for his omission.
Earlier this month, the 30-year-old told Ekstra Bladet that he has been left out in the cold at Leicester and also admitted he feels “strange” with the coach’s treatment towards him.
The centre-back hasn’t featured for the Foxes since this interview and reports in the UK are stating he is being made to train alone.
Tipsbladet backs it up as they state the Dane has been ‘told to stay away’ from the squad.
It’s further claimed this ‘message has come from Brendan Rodgers’ himself as the manager doesn’t want the former Southampton man to be training with the rest of the team.
There is a very clear reason why Vestergaard is receiving this treatment and it’s because of the interview he did with Ekstra Bladet this month.
Vestergaard’s contract expires in June and unless there’s a drastic change, he will leave Leicester as a free agent in the summer.
