Sevilla have a desire to keep Boubakary Soumaré, after signing him on a loan deal from Leicester City last summer.

The midfielder has featured 25 times this season and his performances have convinced the La Liga side to extend his stay beyond the loan deal.

Estadio Deportivo state Leicester aren’t ‘willing to give up’ the 25-year-old. In addition to this, his salary and the €15m price tag are both unaffordable for Sevilla, who also have to lower their wage bill.

Enzo Maresca’s side are leading the Championship table and are in a comfortable position to be promoted to the top flight. If they were to return to the Premier League, the report states it would further strengthen their desire to keep Soumaré.

Lucien Agoumé joined the Andalusian club on loan from Inter Milan in January and it would also be difficult for Sevilla to retain him.

This has seen them look at other options in the market, including Leicester’s Wilfred Ndidi. The 27-year-old Nigeria international, who has four goals and six assists this season, has a deal expiring in the summer.

Ndidi is indisputable for Maresca and Estadio explain that Leicester ‘insist on renewing’ his contract, which would rule out Sevilla.
