Two days ago, Gazzetta dello Sport stated Juventus’ Matias Soulé has said yes to Leicester City.
Later that day, Corriere della Sera said AS Roma are trying to snatch him from Leicester’s clutches.
The same newspaper reported on Sunday that he has said ‘yes to the Giallorossi’. This is echoed up by Corriere dello Sport, who say the 21-year-old is giving priority to Roma over Leicester.
The Argentina U21 international fell in love when he visited Rome with his family to meet his friends, Paulo Dybala and Leandro Paredes.
The Roma duo have told him about the club, what it’s like to live in the city and the new project under Daniele De Rossi.
Roma’s desire to sign Soulé became more intense after finding out that he’ll be left out of Juve’s plans.
De Rossi’s side have to find an agreement with Juve and this may not be easy, considering their technical director, Cristiano Giuntoli, is in negotiations with Leicester.
Corriere claim Steve Cooper’s side have already seen their first bid of €25m plus bonuses rejected. Leicester are ‘studying a relaunch’, meaning they’re considering making an improved offer to try and sign the South American.
The Giallorossi value the attacker at €25m, and they could include bonuses plus a percentage of the fee from his future sale.
It’s not clear whether that would be enough to convince Juve, but Leicester would have to act fast and offer more money in order to beat Roma to Soulé’s signature.
