Despite some initial reservations, Victor Kristiansen is slowly but surely convincing everyone at Bologna that spend €15m on him this summer might be a good idea.
Corriere dello Sport cover the defender’s situation on Thursday, and make it clear that while he isn’t there yet, he is ‘on the right path’ to get the summer transfer he desires.
The Dane had made it clear he wasn’t happy with how Enzo Maresca wanted to use him at Leicester, which led to his loan to Bologna in Serie A.
He started off struggling, but has grown into his role, and is now one of the more active and impressive players in the team, picking up three assists in his last five games.
Bologna have won four of those, drawing the other against AC Milan, which shows how important the player is becoming both defensively and offensively.
The Leicester loanee is said to be ‘carrying out his tasks perfectly’, and while ‘he’s still not worth €15m’ and has a ‘long way to go’ before the club trigger the option to buy, Thiago Motta is ‘satisfied’ with his full-back’s performance.
Therefore, if the 21-year-old continues to play as he does, perhaps even helping Bologna secure an unexpected Champions League qualification, there would be no reason for them not to spend the money on him.
