While there have been a few articles written about Bologna potentially paying €14m to Leicester City to keep Victor Kristiansen, that isn’t a done deal yet.
This is what Gazzetta dello Sport hint at on Wednesday, looking at what the Serie A side will do with the left hand side of their defence in the summer.
They start by explaining that the Dane, on loan from Leicester until the end of the season, has ‘completely won over’ Thiago Motta.
The young defender has ‘made an impressive and evident growth’ with his performances, starting off shakily at first before really growing into his role.
The biggest problem in all this is the cost needed to make the transfer, as €14m are seen as ‘many’ by the Serie A club.
Should they manage to qualify for the Champions League, that might change, but for the time being, it will likely be a decision fully made once the season is over and the bank balance is looked at.
It sounds like the ideal scenario would be for Bologna to pay the money, as they are clearly keen to have Kristiansen around, but whether it’s feasible remains to be seen.
