With a contract at Inter ending in the summer, Stefan de Vrij is already a wanted man on the transfer market.
He is currently free to talk to other clubs about moving in the summer, and Leicester City are among those considering a move for him.
We know this because an article on FC Inter News suggests that the Foxes have already made the first move in their hunt for the Dutchman.
The article, looking at the player’s situation, state that he has, so far, only received one concrete contract offer, and that’s come from Villarreal in Spain.
Beyond that, there are a number of clubs, including Leicester, who have made ‘enquiries’ about the defender, which could ‘become something more concrete in the next few days’.
For now, though, the player is focusing on what’s going on at Inter, and his agent, Federico Pastorello, is expected to meet the Serie A side soon to give a definitive answer on whether he wants to accept their contract renewal offer.
With Inzaghi preferring Francesco Acerbi these days, the Dutchman wants to play, and perhaps that’s a guarantee Leicester can make him.
