Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Jean Butez is being targeted by Leicester City as competition for Mads Hermansen.
That’s according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who reports that Leicester are watching Butez as a potential future number one, even though he doesn’t fit the profile they’re looking ideally.
Leicester currently have four goalkeepers on their books, with Hermansen joined by Daniel Iversen, Danny Ward and Jakub Stolarczyk.
It seems they may not be happy with those options, though, with Tavolieri reporting they’re keeping an eye on Butez as a potential option and a challenger to Hermansen.
They’re yet to move or make any offers but are keeping a close eye on him but may want to move sooner rather than later as Anderlecht are also hovering in the background.
Tavolieri reports that his sources tell him they’re expected to come back for a deal after the international window has closed as it remains open in Belgium until September 6th.
It’s a situation to keep an eye on, with Leicester and others hovering and yet to do anything concrete, but Butez clearly a name that they all like.
