Gerard Moreno has been directly involved in over 50% (19 goals and five assists) of Villarreal’s 42 goals scored in La Liga this season, and the striker’s fine form for the Yellow Submarine has caught Leicester City’s attention.

According to Fichajes.net, the Foxes hope to qualify for the Champions League and have started planning their squad ahead of next season.

It’s claimed the Premier League side will focus on improving their attack, considering 34-year-old Jamie Vardy may be entering the twilight years of his career.

Brendan Rodgers wants the club to bring in a new striker and it’s stated the manager would have an ‘ideal name’ in his sights for the summer.

As per the report, that man is Moreno and Leicester are ‘interested’ in the 28-year-old because the Villarreal player is the ‘one chosen’ by the former Liverpool manager.

Moreno dreams of playing in the Europe’s elite club competition and a move to King Power Stadium will help him fulfil it, with his ability to play alongside Vardy making him an even more interesting prospect for the English club.

Fichajes.net only mention Leicester as an interested club and don’t provide Moreno or Villarreal’s stance on doing business in the summer.
