With news that Chelsea are interested in Danny Drinkwater comes an alleged Leicester interest in a new central midfielder.
Despite being seemingly set for days in the midfielder department, the Foxes are said to have been tracking André Silva from Sporting CP, yet another cheaper option has now popped up in PFK Ludogorets’ Anicet.
The Madagascar international featured regularly for the Bulgarian side last season, starting all six of their Champions League games against Basel, Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal, making 38 appearances in all competitions, scoring one goal and picking up one assist.
According to Foot Mercato in France, while Nantes were said to be interested, Ludogorets’ €7m asking price for their midfielder is said to have put them off.
However, the French website explain the 27-year-old isn’t short of suitors, with Leicester, Fiorentina and Olympiakos all apparently after his services.
If the Foxes are indeed interested in bringing in a new midfielder, perhaps one who could provide some quality in depth rather than be a regular starter, then Anicet might not be a terrible option.
After all, what’s €7m to Premier League clubs these days…
