Leicester City promoted Danny Ward as the main goalkeeper after Kasper Schmeichel left the King Power Stadium for OGC Nice in the summer.
The Premier League side took Alex Smithies on a free transfer in the last window and had also looked at other targets, including Odysseas Vlachodimos.
On August 22nd, Correio da Manhã stated Leicester gave up on the Benfica star due to their delay in making the final decision on the 28-year-old’s future.
This has benefited the Primeira Liga side since the Greece international has excelled for them this season.
Vlachodimos has conceded only seven goals and kept nine clear sheets from 15 matches. His fine form has not gone unnoticed, and Leicester are still in the mix.
That’s according to Media Foot, who state the English club’s interest in Vlachodimos is ‘not going away’.
It’s explained that Brendan Rodgers’ side will be there ‘for sure’ to sign the keeper either in January or next summer.
However, the Foxes must be cautious because the report states Manchester United are also keeping tabs on Vlachodimos, as they look for a potential successor to David De Gea.
