Leicester City wanting Atalanta’s Jérémie Boga has been reported regularly in Italy over the past few weeks.
Fiorentina have joined the Foxes in the race to sign the winger and this is highlighted again by Calciomercato.
Atalanta wanted to make money through the 26-year-old’s sale in the summer and Leicester were a step away from signing him. The deal collapsed because the Serie A side were not able to find a replacement for Boga.
The Ivory Coast international has failed to enjoy regular game time this season. He has been restricted to seven substitute appearances in the league, managing two assists in the process.
Fiorentina are leading the list of suitors for the ex-Sassuolo man that also includes the English club. It’s claimed Leicester’s interest in Boga ‘remains alive’ as Brendan Rodgers wants to ‘close the coup’ after last summer’s disappointment.
Atalanta, for their part, don’t intend to sell the player in the winter market. Their idea is to send him out on loan because Gian Piero Gasperini’s side, who paid €20m to buy Boga, are not willing to sell him for the same price.
Boga came off the bench in the second half and registered two assists to help Atalanta seal a 2-1 win over Bologna on Monday. Calciomercato suggest the latest display could lead to a few questions over his situation at the club.
