Dennis Praet can leave Leicester City, but not until the end of the January transfer window, with the Foxes holding out for now.
That’s according to Voetbalkrant and journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who cover Praet and a potential exit from the Championship leaders this month.
Voetbalkrant explain that Praet can leave Leicester this month and Belgian side Antwerp are ‘already concrete’ for the midfielder. They have contacted Leicester about a transfer and to enquire about the midfielder’s conditions.
However, they cite Tavolieri as reporting that a transfer is not possible today or tomorrow. According to him Praet may no longer have a future at Leicester, and has an expiring contract with them, but a transfer isn’t possible until the end of January.
That’s because the Foxes don’t want to take any risks and are counting on the Belgian international this month to cover absences caused by the Africa Cup of Nations.
That’s one issue for Antwerp and the other is the interest from Torino, who are also concretely interested in hm. Praet ‘is inclined’ to take that option rather return to Belgium after playing on loan with the Italian side in the 2021/22 season.
Thus, nothing is moving at this moment in time as Leicester hold out for now, but he is a name to keep an eye on later in the month.
