Leicester City could be given their second shot at Atalanta’s Jeremie Boga after trying to sign him on loan in the summer window.
That’s according to Primo Bergamo, who cover the player today and a potential move after he came close to leaving in the last window.
Last week we covered a report that Leicester had been interested in the forward throughout the summer and made a ‘concrete attempt’ for his signature.
The player ultimately decided against the move, but he’s not been playing for Atalanta and they’re now considering an exit, with Leicester back in the picture.
Primo Bergamo pick up on that today, stating that Boga has ‘never made an impact’ during his time at Atalanta and has now been replaced by Ademola Lookman.
He is only one of two players, the other is the third-choice goalkeeper, to have not made a start this season and when he has been given a chance his performance has been ‘far from what was expected’.
His numbers are also ‘very bad’, and it is now clear it is not going to work, hence talk of a move away in January.
He could have joined Leicester on loan in the summer but in the end, he said no to the opportunity presented to him.
Now ‘something will have to happen’ in January, although it is unlikely to be a permanent exit given the money the Serie A side paid to sign him and how that value has now dropped.
It is, however, ‘inevitable’ that he will leave, perhaps to relaunch himself and become more decisive again.
In other words, on a loan deal to revalue himself and potentially secure a move in the summer, something we’re sure Leicester would accept.
