Rachid Ghezzal is edging ever closer to getting his move to the Premier League, and Leicester City appears to be his destination.
L’Equipe on Friday are reporting that after weeks of negotiations between the player and Claude Puel’s side, the Foxes have finally entered concrete talks with AS Monaco for the Algeria international’s transfer.
The former Lyon starlet is described as one of the French manager’s ‘summer priorities’, most likely following the departure of Riyad Mahrez for Manchester City.
Ghezzal appeared to be one of many targets for Leicester, who have some money to spend, alongside the likes of Adnan Januzaj, but while Real Sociedad are asking for around €30m for the Belgian, Monaco are likely to require considerable less for their winger.
The 26-year-old never managed to convince Leonardo Jardim last season, preferring to use Rony Lopes and Keita Baldé throughout the campaign, and ended up playing less than 1000 minutes of league football.
L’Equipe believe Ghezzal’s transfer to Leicester could be done this weekend, if all goes well.
