It seems Leicester City won’t accept losing the race for São Paulo defender Lucas Beraldo.
Just recently, following reports about the Foxes’ interest in the player, it had been claimed that Zenit placed a €18m offer for the transfer.
Now, according to UOL, Leicester City told São Paulo they’ll outbid the Russian side.
It’s said the Foxes haven’t confirmed how much they’ll put on the table yet, but with the Tricolor demanding at least €20m for the transfer, the Championship side are expected to match that.
São Paulo are said to be in need to sell at least one player before the end of the year, as they don’t want to close their accounts with a deficit, and that’s why Beraldo ‘should leave’ the club very soon.
Recent reports from Brazil had claimed that the defender’s staff aren’t very excited about a transfer to Leicester City, as they believed he could get something better than a Championship club. However, it does look like only the Foxes and Zenit are in the race right now, and as things stand, Enzo Maresca’s side have a very good chance of being in the Premier League next season.
