Leicester have agreed a fee of €29m with Sporting CP to sign Algerian striker Islam Slimani, reports Correio da Manha in Portugal.
It is reported Leicester will pay the amount in three instalments, and Slimani should be officially presented next week.
Earlier, Portuguese website DN Sport claimed the British embassy had received a request for Slimani’s work permit.
However, DN Sport claimed West Bromwich were in pole position, whilst Arsenal and Leicester also keen on the player.
The 28-year-old has a release clause of €30m and has been strongly linked with a move to Leicester over the past few months.
Slimani was in brilliant goal scoring form last season, as he found the back of the net 31 times, and also had 7 assists to his name.
Just two days ago, both Record and O Jogo published big stories saying a West Brom move was on the way, perhaps Leicester City have swooped in at the end and hijacked the deal.
