Leicester City have been interested in the Botafogo youngster Luis Henrique, according to claims from the Brazilian media today.

Local outlet Lance reports the Foxes have sent an official to watch the 18-year-old in a match this year, and ‘everyone’ from the scouting department liked his performance.

It’s said Leicester City had been monitoring the player before the Coronavirus pandemic, and have been ‘making it clear’ they’re interested in the player.

However, it’s pointed out that the Premier League side are still to make an approach or any offers for the young forward.

The teenager made his debut for the Rio de Janeiro side by the end of the last year, and is still fighting for his place in the team, having only 12 appearances for them so far.

Lance claims that Luis Henrique is protected by a release clause of €30m. Botafogo, who own only 40% of his rights, are still to set a price for a sale.
