According to a claim in the Turkish media, Leicester City are interested in signing Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir and are ready to offer €22m to sign the player in the summer transfer window.

Along with Leicester City, it’s been reported by Aksam that Everton, Liverpool and Sheffield United are also keeping tabs on the highly rated 23 year old, who’s been in excellent form for his club this season.

It’s claimed Leicester City scout Lee Congerton followed him during Trabzonspor’s Turkish Cup win over Fenerbahce at the start of this month and was impressed with the player’s performance.

Brendan Rodgers currently have Kasper Schmeichel as his first-choice goalkeeper at the moment, but could look to bring another goalkeeper to provide competition for the Dane.

Cakir’s contract with Trabzonspor will expire at the end of June 2024 but the Turkish club could be forced to sell their academy graduate because of FFP.
