Leicester City have ‘reached an agreement’ for the departure of midfielder Rachid Ghezzal, according to reports today.
TuttoMercatoWeb writes that the Foxes now have a deal with Galatasaray, who’ll sign him on a permanent move.
It’s said that his agent is currently in Istanbul sorting the final details of the move, although the outlet doesn’t say how much are the Turkish side paying for it.
The reason why there’s an Italian outlet reporting the transfer is that Ghezal had spent a season on loan at Fiorentina in the 2019/20 season, and rumours had claimed he could be back in the country this summer.
Hurriyet claims that Galatasaray’s offer was of €2.75m plus bonuses, and that’s why they’re winning the race against local rivals Besiktas, who put on the table €2.25m.
In a press conference, Galatasaray president Burak Elmas confirmed the talks.
“We met with Ghezzal, we’ll continue to meet with any player we want. Our coach desires that player, the cost is suitable for Galatasaray, the character of the player is suitable for Galatasaray … These three main criteria … We’re trying to add the best. The transfer of Ghezzal is an unfinished process at the moment, an unfinished process if we haven’t announced it.”
