According to Ajansspor’s Ekrem Konur, Leicester City are looking to sign Fenerbahce forward Vedat Muriqi in the January transfer window.
Earlier this week we covered reports from Turkey the Foxes are interested in signing the Kosovan international, and that they watched him in action when Fenerbahce beat Genclerbirligi 5-2 on Friday.
Tottenham Hotspur were also reportedly at the game to watch the player.
Konur says the Premier League side are now closely following the 25 year old’s situation, and they will make a ‘very solid offer’ in the new year to bring him to England.
He could be a good addition for Brendan Rodgers as they look to challenge Liverpool for the league title, and could add a different dimension to Leicester City’s game.
However, the Turkish side aren’t likely to sell their key player in January, especially considering they too are a title race.
Like pretty much everywhere, the media in Turkey can often get carried away with a transfer rumour and push things along further than they actually are. Whilst Leicester interest wouldn’t be surprising, it would be eyebrow-raising if they’ve already decided to make an offer.
Muriqi has played 14 games for Fener in all competitions this season and scored 10 goals.
